You'll be toning your entire body and getting a great cardio workout, all with a smile on your face!

Space is limited so please RSVP by email (hooptopia_at_gmail_dot_com) no later than 6:00 p.m. this Saturday to reserve your spot.  When responding, please include your name, contact information, and how many people will be attending.  Hoops will be provided for class use.

Saturday Night at Lavo! [May. 4th, 2010|08:16 am]

I went out after the fight on Saturday. DJ Reach was spinning at Lavo and did an awesome set. Plus I got to party with some football players and their girls :XD Local ladies get in free there, so it's definitely worth the trip. The place was LIVE!

Read all about it and see my pics and vids here geekgirlworld.livejournal.com/10642.html

martial arts schools? [Feb. 16th, 2010|07:51 am]

[music |Portishead - Elysium]

Anyone know of any good, reasonably priced martial arts schools for kids around here? I've got a seven-year-old and a nine-year-old that I'd like to enroll in courses that teach the gambit of martial arts benefits such self-discipline, perseverance, respect, etc. I strongly prefer a school that is as void as possible of any MMA meathead mentality (perhaps that's asking a lot, around here).

I Love CityLife. [Feb. 13th, 2010|08:19 pm]
For making this list. About time someone tries to shut up all of those people who are butthurt/overreacting about what Obama said.

Other uncomfortable truths about Las Vegas that President Obama would get in trouble for saying.

1. Casinos subsist, at least in small part, on addicted gamblers who can't help themselves.

2. Humans were obviously never meant to live in the desert, which is why we have such problems with water.

3. If a budget is a numerical representation of an organization's priorities, Las Vegas doesn't give a shit about education.

4. You can still make a pretty good living here without the need for any kind of education.

5. As the town of second chances, we get a lot of losers.

6. There's a little con man in every person who makes Las Vegas their home for an extended period.

7. Of our major industries, only construction actually produces anything.

8. Some of the people who are really revered in this town are just hacks, but we all implicitly agree to ignore that.

9. You can have a really good time here, raise a family, go to church and lead a normal life, but at it's heart, Las Vegas is still a city built on separating suckers from their money.

10. Eating at buffets is not healthy.

11. Neither is chain smoking.

12. Prostitution and illegal drug use are condoned in Las Vegas, so long as you're winning.

13. Las Vegas goes down a little easier if you're drunk.

14. In many ways, Las Vegas is still a small town, and a hick one at that.

15. You can't love Las Vegas without hating it too, even if it's just a little.

This list is full of win. :D

(no subject) [Feb. 4th, 2010|10:44 am]

figured here would be the best place to ask.

recently my mother moved in with us and she's driving us both nuts, especially my boyfriend. he wanted to have this whole nice/romantic night for valentines day and was going to spend his whole tax return but my mom just threw it in our face that she can't pay all of rent(agreement was-she would) so now we have to use it for that.

anyone have comped rooms they won't use, discounted rooms or know of discounts for locals(preferably ones you can use your lease agreement/bills instead of id's as neither of us have a nv one) for rooms?

we really wanted to stay on the strip since i've never gotten to and since i recently turned 21 we want to be able to walk around and have a good time.

any tips are really appreciated. thanks :)
